Document Authentication on KLZ *Updated URL*
22 September 09 03:58 PM | plaj01 | with no comments
We have solved an annoyance when opening documents within KLZ. When opening a document a screen would pop up asking you to authenticate and enter your username and password again.
To stop this happening you must add *.klz.org.uk to the trusted sites in Internet Explorer and also log on to the KLZ using the option “This is a private computer” on the log on screen.(*.klz.org.uk covers the My Site URL, Communicator Web Access, Admin Tool etc)

However, you must ensure that you are not using a public or shared computer when logging on this way, as a “cookie” is left on your computer which can have security implications if compromised.
If you are using your normal desk / laptop computer in school or at home then this should be fine. If you are using a shared computer in school, such as an ICT suite, library or any other public computer then please log on as a “public computer.” You will be asked to authenticate again when accessing documents, but we hope this is acceptable when using shared computers, considering the security risk.

As always, please make sure your PC is protected with the latest Windows Updates and Anti-Virus updates.
We have posted a video on the KLZ on how to make these changes to your computer under Support > Video Support.

Mac OS X 10.6 - Snow Leopard now supported on KLZ E-Mail

Apple have recently released the latest update to Mac OS - OS 10.6 Snow Leopard.

We have tested the Mail program on KLZ E-Mail / Exchange 2007 and it works very well. The software isn't as pretty as Entourage or Outlook though!

The big benefit of this is that you do not need to purchase extra software to run KLZ E-Mail on a Mac.
