Through partnership working involving a wide range of support for children and families, we aim to improve access to services, improve services and efficiencies. There is a Partnership core staff who work closely with schools and families linking in with The Police,  Children's Social Services,  Connexions, Adult Social Services, Health, The Voluntary Sector, Libraries, District and Local Councils, Housing, Youth work of all kinds, indeed all support agencies for children and families.

The Kent Children's Trust and Board sets the main governance arrangements. The Kent Children and Young People's Plan is the main County plan.  Swanley and District Local Children's Trust Board has analysed local data and developed a complimentary plan. This plan is continually monitored and reviewed. Sub sections are developed when new issues arise. It is intended to re-write the plan in June 2010 after a 2 year period of operation.

We are currently looking forward to a review of services. Whilst this is in operation we wish to continue developing the partnerships we have already committed to.

This academic year starts with an official change. We start our Local Children's Service Partnership (LCSP) officially.  We have been successfully working toward this over the past few years.  We aim to raise standards in schools further, building on successes in our Primary Schools (whom add more value than any other area from pre school to 11 years of age).

We continue with our sucessful Building Learning Power project Conference on 3 March 2008 with Guy Claxton.   ECO school activities have been a popular focus for our Cluster Pupil Council.  We continue work on being Healty Schools and are on track to become a Safe Cluster.  We continue to develop our support for vulnerable pupils with our Cluster Based Review to support pupils in need of additional support. We have a major project to support our Early Years Colleagues, especially with ICT access.

We celebrated new buildings at Furness School and High Firs. The Harvey Centre (Youth Stop) openned this Summer and the new Downsview extension is due to be openned soon. Horizon School and Hextable Primary School have settled in after a year of developing new schools. Horizon awaits its new building extension to include a community room.

We are rapidly developing our Trust Like arrangements in Partnership with multi-agency colleagues including the Police, Social Services, Health, District and Local Council, Connexions, Education, Youth Service and Youth Offending Service.

We are having a new thrust on ICT support from Play Groups up! Diana Marsden is our Hands on Support Consultant.

We have a new Multi-Agency Partnership (Trust) and staff drop in base at The Simon Harrison Centre.
