The South East Physics network is running a free afternoon careers and exams event for Year 11 students. The session will consist of a talk by an AQA examiner, a careers fair and a chance to ask questions of working scientists and engineers. The event will run for students from 1pm until 4pm at a range of dates and venues as follows: 25th November - University of Surrey, Guildford 2nd December - Queen Mary, University of London, Mile End 8th December - University of Sussex, Brighton Date to be confirmed for University of Kent, Canterbury . There will also be a chance in the evening for careers advisers to come in and meet some representatives from industries that employ physical scientists and they will receive a pack with information on the careers options available. I have attached (in a zipped folder) a flier for the Learning Skills for science course to be delivered in Sittingbourne in just over a week. This is free for Kent LA schools to attend. Sign up using details from the flier. The course is being tutored by Gill McGannan and myself (Keith Milchem). We hope to see lots of you there. The skills supported by this training will complement all who are moving over to a more skills focussed KS3 and 4. Previous trainees speak very highly of the course materials.
I have also attached a general flier giving details of other courses offered at Sittingbourne. For some time we have complained about the distance to Southampton from Kent. The mountain has now come to Mohammed - so we should suppport these courses wherever we can. Do take a look and sign up for relevant training. This also includes training for your support staff.
Attached is the latest offering sent to HoD's and others in Kent. As usual, click on post title and the new window will show the attachment.
